Programming Technologies is a specialisation of the first-cycle engineering programme in Computer Science at the University of Humanities and Economics in Lodz (AHE) – 3.5 years, taught in English and equivalent to the Polish version of the specialisation. It is for students who want to build modern software, above all web applications and systems, and work in international IT companies.
Key subjects of the specialisation include:
The specialisation builds fundamental programming skills and introduces professional tools and work methods early: Scrum, Agile and source code version control start in the first semester, together with the basics of unit testing. You learn to design and implement web and desktop applications, test web applications and program distributed systems, so that the solutions you build are scalable and reliable. The programme also covers running IT projects. The other first-cycle specialisations in English focus on cybersecurity and cloud infrastructure or on artificial intelligence.
You work with C/C++, Python, Java and web frameworks, as well as Git, CI/CD and DevOps practices, learning through projects, workshops and case studies based on real problems from the IT profession.
Graduates are prepared to work as programmers – especially web developers – software developers, testers and system analysts, and to take part in managing IT projects in companies that create software and Internet solutions.
After the engineering degree you can continue at master's level: AHE runs second-cycle Computer Science studies, including one specialisation taught in English.
